Naci Keskin

Naci Keskin was born in Ermenek in 1921. He attended primary school in Ermenek, but since there was no secondary school in Ermenek, his family sent him to Milas to continue his education. He completed his high school education in Konya. After graduating from Istanbul University, Department of French Language and Literature, he worked as a teacher in Kars, Ermenek and Istanbul respectively. Since his years as a teacher in Kars, he regularly visited Istanbul and had the photographs he took developed and distributed.  While he was working as a teacher and assistant principal at Istanbul Pendik List, he started producing postcards in the dark room he set up in the stairwell of his house. In 1963, when he realized that the demand was very high, he invited his brother Abdullah Keskin to Istanbul to collaborate.


Abdullah Keskin

Abdullah Keskin was born in Ermenek in 1925. After completing primary school in Ermenek, Abdullah Keskin, who was interested in different fields of trade such as tailoring, cheese production, sewing machine dealership and transportation, moved to Ankara with his family in 1959. Abdullah Keskin, who worked in flour trade in Ankara between 1959 and 1963, moved to Istanbul in 1963 upon the invitation of his older brother Naci Keskin. He started to support Naci Keskin, who was working as a French teacher in Istanbul at the time and who took and printed photographs of historical and touristic places in Istanbul in his spare time.
