How can I request / obtain digital material in the collection?

Suna Kıraç Library evaluates digital material usage requests and then presents to users.

What are the types of collections may I access?

Suna Kıraç Library Digital Collections includes collections of  Koç University’s academic outputs and institutional memory as well as a variety of special collections in the field of cultural heritage.

The subjects of the Digital Collections as it follows:

What kind of collections are there in the AKMED Archive?

The collection consists of mainly old Antalya photographs and stereoscopes, photographs, slides, postcards, documents, and old newspapers regarding Antalya history.

What kinds of collections are there in the VEKAM Archives?

The archives consist of two main collections. In the Ankara Collection, there are ephemeral materials such as photographs, postcards, documents, maps.  In the Vehbi Koc Collection, there are correspondences relating to Vehbi Koc’s commercial activities, photographs of some business trips, and news clippings regarding Vehbi Koc and Koc family between 1952-1996.

How can I donate my collection?

Suna Kıraç Library accepts collections by donation after an evaluation process based on the subjects in interest. The Library undertakes the responsibility of preservation and conservation of archival materials of the donated collection according to the world standards as well as classification, digitization of the documents and making them accessible online. With a brief informative text on the content of the collection, you may send your questions and suggestions to digitalresources@ku.edu.tr about donating a collection to the Library.

What are the conditions for project collaborations with the Library?

How can I donate my collection to VEKAM Library?

Donations are evaluated regarding the scope of the VEKAM Library. The Library takes on the donated collection’s preservation/keeping by World standards, classification, digitalization, and making it accessible online. You could deliver your questions, suggestions and a summary of your collection briefly to the e-mail digitalresources@ku.edu.tr address.

Where is VEKAM Library & Archive located?

VEKAM Library is located in Vehbi Koç Ankara Studies Research Center. For detailed information, please visit https://vekam.ku.edu.tr/.

Can I make an image request even if I do not visit the VEKAM Library by a material request form? How can I make an image request?

If you live outside of Ankara you could make an image request by filling out a material request form. When your request is approved the image will be sent to your e-mail address. You will be obligated to sign a digital copy delivery protocol and send the original protocol to the Library.

Are VEKAM Collections accessible on other campuses, or can I study the materials when I visit other research centers?

All the archive collections are physically accessible on the registered locations.

An appointment is required to study at VEKAM Archives. You can make an appointment by sending e-mail to digitalresources@ku.edu.tr addresses.

Donations are evaluated regarding the scope of the AKMED Library. The Library takes on the donated collection’s preservation/keeping by World standards, classification, digitisation, and making it accessible online.

You could deliver your questions, suggestions, and a summary of your collection briefly to the e-mail address below: digitalresources@ku.edu.tr.

Can I make an image request even if I do not visit the AKMED Library by a material request form? How can I make an image request?

Yes. You could make an image request by filling out a material request form. When your request is approved the images will be sent to your e-mail address or sent to your address by post on a CD (expenses will be on the requesting party). The person who receives the delivery is obligated to sign a digital copy delivery protocol and sent it to the AKMED Library (digitalresources@ku.edu.tr).
