Total 794 personal and official documents have been donated by Müjde Gümüşoğlu and Metin Tekin, the heirs of İclal Par and İsmail Hami Danişmend family to Suna Kıraç Library : Chronologically, the oldest document in the collection dates back to 1895, yet the most recent document dates to 1999.

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer

The records described in this collection were donated by Müjde Gümüşoğlu and Metin Tekin, accession signed by the President of Koç University Umran Savaş İnan and the director of Suna Kıraç Library, Tuba Akbaytürk Çanak.

Scope and content

This collection consists of records related to İclal Par, who was a historian and wife of famous Turkish historian İsmail Hami Danişmend. It consists of correspondence, official and legal documents, and postcards. The majority of the documents/letters are Ottoman (619 documents/letters), some Turkish (164 documents/letters) and a few (11 documents/letters) are in bilingual (Turkish and Ottoman).
